THE DELETERIOUS HANDS OF HUMANS

A fair warning: This blog is only meant for people who actually care about the Mother Earth and knows how imperative it is to conserve this beautiful nature.

Let’s start with humans who form an integral part of this planet but still are the most detrimental for the nature. Human mind which scientists have failed to understand completely, is the most perilous and baleful of all. It compels us to do both bad and good things. Another vital part of the human body is its heart which can be quite selfish and deceptive sometimes.

It is the human mind and heart that is always reluctant to believe that continuous exploitation of natural resources can result in the degradation of the earth. It is believed that 700 million years ago, Venus was as magnificent as Earth and life could have possibly existed on the planet. However, with the increase in the percentage of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, it turned into a ball of fire and now is one of the hottest planets in our solar system. This sounds similar to what is happening presently on the Earth. What if history repeats itself? What if the existence of life on Earth becomes a history? It is terrifying to imagine such a situation. But this fear and these apprehensions can force you to start taking steps to conserve our planet.

We are not thinking about the upcoming generations who will suffer the most. If we change right now, we might not need to see a phase when the Earth is slowly turning into a ball of fire right in front of our eyes. Will it be a picturesque view to see our planet slowly getting destroyed by our hands? Think of it as humans breaking the bricks of their own house. There are thousands of activists all around the world who work day and night to spread awareness. Their speeches have an impact on us which lasts only for a few days and again we resort to our old means. We take undue advantage of all the resources and even being educated, we behave like illiterates. Are we so stubborn that we cannot bring a small change in ourselves? Out of 24 hours a day, can we not spare a few hours each day to take steps for conserving the environment? Instead of wasting manual labor in useless technology, we can start manufacturing machines which would serve as a boon to this terrene. Let’s start putting our knowledge into constructive use.

I request all the readers to start taking actions to conserve this alluring orb and spread awareness through all possible means.

“One small step taken by each one of us would be a giant leap for the earth.”- Saanvi Rungta
